GIRL IN A COMA

Girl in a Coma

You guys just returned from a tour overseas. What was the most memorable part about being overseas?
It was amazing tour. The fact that we were touring with Morrissey in his homeland was surreal. The crowds were great and it was a definite rush. Of course, there had to be some hecklers here and there. But we look at that as a challenge and overall entertainment.

Being from San Antonio, Texas, would you ever do a song in Spanish?
We have! We did a tribute to 50′s Spanish rock at the Anson Ford Theater in L.A… and still play some of those songs in our set.

Y’all have toured across the country for some years now. What was the one lesson you picked up on the road you continue to follow?
Touring is the best way to reach the masses. You can’t relay on the internet and just sit your ass at home and expect shit to fall on your laps. You have to bust your ass to get out there. If you have it live as well… then you’ll watch your fan base grow each time you return. Being at the right place at the right time will never happen if you don’t move.

Your video for Road to Home really has a positive perspective on gender issues, what made you decide to feature those issues?
Well, Jenn is an open lesbian.. and right away.. People will want to categorize you as a “gay band”. It’s not about that. We all are people.. No matter what we are in too. You should not be afraid to be who you are EVER, and you should not be quick to judge a person by their appearance. We hope that message came across.
